Hi,
Well, I figured out how to wire the plugs and which plugs to get to install my stock Rover head unit...apparently out of a Discovery 1...anyway, the plugs were gotten from BestBuy and are stock for most German cars like Audi, VW, and Mercs...the kid behind the counter knew which one right away...$19.95...but, the radio doesn't make a sound once I plugged it all together!? Is there something I'm missing like a switch or something? I plugged in a Blaupunkt radio I had laying around and it works fine...I've got two Rover radios and neither work...any suggestions?
thanks

The radios have a security code... Does the screen light up asking for a code? When ever I disconnect the battery, I have to reset the radio by entering the code. You may be able to bring the radio to LR, then they can look up the code. Or you may need the VIN from the truck the radio came from.

Hope this helps,

Scott

I believe there is a stock amplifier under the passenger seat (mine does) is it working properly?

the new radio most likely has a built in amp, therefor you may have to rewire thing to bi-pass the LR amp, the speakers may be connected to the LR amp and not your new radio.

I just did a complete rewire as the PO did a total hack job with the aftermarket stereo. Its now correctly wired but bypassing all the LR wiring was a real pain and took the better part of this weekend.

I looked under the passenger seat...besides the fuel inject control and error code display, there was a CD changer! I've owned 3 other D90s before this but they were all 94s and had nothing under there but rust!...Thanks all for the help...there is no amp in there but there is this changer thing...I'll have to pull that out and refigure all the wiring...thanks again!
