guys,
I bought a 94 D90 2 months ago, I LOVE THE TRUCK, I had hummers, jeeps and there is no comparison. My only issue is I would love an automatic, not being a tech wiz, I can't do the auto swap and even contacted ECR who are VERY cool and recommended a 97.

Turns out I find a 97 in Ct (71k miles) I did a VIN check and early in it's life (2248 miles) has an "Exceeds Mechanical Limits" statement, I would guess a bad speedo. What to do? how much in your expert opinions do I spend on something like this, I was thinking 22K (I thought it might me worth 26k before the VIN check)

Any opinions are appreciated, I would of course have to sell my 94' and plan to hold on to the 97' but do not want to get screwed if I ever have to sell !!

Help !!

You should pull the history from a local dealer. Since it sounds like the anomally took place early on, it's probably in the dealer service history. I would not pay too much creedance to what the carfax came in on. It's only as good as the resources carfax accesses for information. What you pay for this truck should depend on service history, condition and driving characteristics. I wouldn't jump to conclusions.

Of course, if you can talk the owner down to 22K or lower, go for it.

2 years ago I paid around $24,500 for my '97 with 90K. It's also a mint AZ truck.
