View Full Version : Fog light install

I'm installing Hella fog lights on the front bumper and need some help. I haven't see how it's "supposed" to be done from the factory so I'm not sure what I'm aiming for.
Currently all I have are the two lights. There are two holes (too small) in the front bumper between the factory brush bar. I assume I should mount them there, but then they're not high enough to clear the cross-member on the brush bar. Is there supposed to be a mount or something?
Then I need to wire them. Where can I get the necessary harnesses, wires, switch, relays, etc.? And is there a LR switch that is supposed to be next to the dimmer? There is extra space there and I was wondering if that is where it should go.
Thanks in advance as always.

Payton,
www.roversnorth.com sells the matching switch to the dimmer switch. Part # RNC938....$24.79. Good luck...Dave

You can buy that bar at a dealership. That is where I got mine then sold it to Philip, sucker! Just kidding Philip.

Damn, thanks for the help guys. Of course it couldn't be easy. I'll look for that bar and hopefully get the switch for a clean install.

Payton,
Which switch? There is an Auxiliary lighting swith that fits next to your dimmer and there is a wand switch that fits on the right hand side of the steering wheel.

I'm assuming I want the aux. switch next to the dimmer. I think that'd look best and be as close to stock. Where can I find a wiring diagram or what relays to use?
BTW, I have the Hella FF1000s and I think they're considerably smaller than the ones posted earlier in this thread, the Rallye 3000s.

the 4k's will not work in conjunction with the stocker bar. you would have to cut the grill.... i am gonna get a little bracket that will move the light out just enough to fit the depth of the 4k's. the switch that goes on the steering colum is kinda $$ from rovers north.......

The Steering column switch is nice though.
Phil,
Try the RN stainless grill. It's much nicer than the stock and it is much thinner. Might work w?o mods.

I think i am gonna shell out for the colum switch. I have seen the RN grill its nice but to bling bling for me.

Yeah, the silver one looks Bling. But the black looks real stealthy. Hard to tell it's even there.
Are you running a winch? I just looked at my SW and it looks real crowded up there. I hope that I can stuff the lights up there....
