Fuel sender mounting....

Anybody have any photos that can show me how the fuel level sending unit mounts to the tank on a NAS D-90? I hate brainstorming, but not having all the info I need.

a wire arm with a rubber float on one end, the other end attaches to a circut board type thing as the arm float up and down this metal tab rubbes up and down on this board type thing???????help-no help?????

Hope this helps -- it's a '94 with ECRs seriously nice stainless setup. I can easily take more if necessary.

Thats what I was afraid of. The sender is integrated into the fuel pump system. Makes it harder to change it for gauge compatibility.

For guage compatibility you need to determine the ohm range - I think a search here will turn up the ohm range of the stock unit - I think VDO gives you an option of ohm ranges. I would think that someone with electronics skill could devise a resistor set-up to make things work out? I dont know exactly what is required, but perhaps you can get around swapping out the sender?

There are some options available. Some Autometer gauges are fully programmable for any sender, which is what I will most likely be using. Some higher end companies that you can order direct from will also calibrate the gauges custom for what we need. But just like ALL the other gauges for us, it's an annoying process of custom made parts.

Of course, you could always cut another hole in the top of the tank and put another sender in it..... but then we are getting complicated already.
