I have a feeling us deisel drivers are pretty rare this side of the atlantic but when gas is $3.20 a gall and deisel is a dollar less AND i get twenty two to the gallon a deisel is really the only option.............keith

only 22 mpg - but Bellargio 200bhp 130 diesel defenders get 35 mpg at 100mph cruise....:grin

Can't help with your query but there are some dieselers here. you could try www.landroverenthusiast.com's forum.

the more modern deisels do get more to the gallon, the downside is there not that easy to work on, this deisel of mine is the 19J engine which is the first revamp of the 21/4 deisel if your lightfooted you will only get 30 to a UK gallon, its mechanically fuel injected so its fairly bulletproof(unlessyou get water through it) the newer engines i believe have three electronic modules and the price for a new one is.......a lot more than i am willing to shell out

so its a 200 TDi I guess - the most reliable and economical one. Noisy, tractor like and a bit slow but who cares - reliable, easy to fix, great mileage.
