300 tdi alternator

I am pretty sure my alternator died this morning.. I was able to make it the 90 miles home on my battery, which surprised me a little, I thought my electric fan would draw down the battery fairly quick??
I disconnected the lead from the battery to the alternator, with the engine running I am not seeing any voltage at the alternator.. Is this a valid test method?? :angry

Any suggestions on where I may be able to get one in the states?? quick... Or anywhere in Colorado that rebuilds them?

It's all about Pendy. He got me a 90 or 110 amp alternator (I can't remember anymore) that bolts right up. A great upgrade over the 40 amp stocker.
