Retaining Your Rear Window

by Ned Connolly

If you've got a soft top with the newer, rail-style soft top this mod may be of interest. (I plan to take a picture of this for submission to the "Custom Mods" section, but who knows how long it'll be before I get around to that.)
I like to drive with the rear window removed from my soft top for better ventilation. But I hate how my interior/speakers get soaked when it rains, and I don't like carting the oh-so-easily scratched plastic window around in the bed "just in case."
I was at Home Depot the other day and I found this great little plastic clip called a "Crocodile Clip." Using zip ties, I cinched 3 of these Crocodile Clips to the Alpine Bar (that small bar that connects in the middle of the roll cage). One clip in the middle, one on either side. Now, if I unzip just the sides of my rear window I can pull it into the inside and clip it to the bar/ceiling.
It solved a problem for me so I figured it might be of interest to some other D-90 owners as well. The clips are cheap (less than a dollar I think), they're real easy to lock and unlock, plus they're black so they look like they came with the truck. Check 'em out. They've got a lot more applications than simply securing the rear window.
